After finishing the CNC work I wanted to do today, I had two hours to spare so I took another look at the fan box and found a slimmer one that pushes the air out to one side and runs at 12V... or the 8V from the fake battery I use in the camera! 2/
So I whipped up a part that holds the fan and directs the airflow along the hot part of the camera (the surface underneath the display). One hour of CAD, half an hour of printing and prototype #1 is alive! 3/
As usual version #1 has some problems (some parts too flimsy, some holes slightly misaligned, ...) but I'm quite confident #2 will be the last one :)
Printing now, to be tested tomorrow. 4/
This is why fablabs are amazing! From noticing a problem to a working prototype in two hours, and to a finished solution in (hopefully) about four hours :)
