    @PaniQ won't a tapered wing with a curved surface always suffer no matter what orientation? Either the curved surface, the leading or the trailing edge will have stepped artifacts. I guess full three-axis printing could also improve structural integrity in many cases, no?

      @PaniQ But I guess the benefits vary a lot depending on the use case and "2.5D" is a lot easier to generalize over for the slicer tools. But it is good to realize that it's just that, there's nothing about the physical printer that implies layer-wise printing is the way to go.
