Knowing that women are underrepresented in this field, and in fact often discouraged to work in it by comments like the ones in this comment thread, they decided to publicize this fact. 1/2

      @Marc_Topaz @Canadiansteveeh @SpaceForceDoD @SchrieverAFB It's not virtue signalling, it's just plain signalling - "look, we do hire and respect women here". Publicizing this message makes sense, because people like @FluJusta loudly exclaim the opposite: "women don't belong in the military". I don't see how it diminishes their work. 2/2
