        the bubble pattern and blue tint are both happy accidents - bubnles because I didn't vacuum-pull enough, and blue color because apparently the resin held on to some of the blue pigment in the machinable wax mold

      it was *really hard* to get this out of the mold, and I ended up bending it significantly in the process. I managed to fix it by cutting off all the hard-to-unmold supports and clamping it back in the mold for another hour.

    the next version is going to have tapered ventholes rather than straight drilled holes, and I'll also make the mold much thinner in general so there should be less friction on the tubes. Thinner mold also means it's easier to flex to pop out the core.
