      @JohnSelstad @LeapMotion that's pretty cool! I was looking for ways to fit a plane to the point-set, but I only found super complicated analytical solutions. This iterative approach looks a lot more reasonable to implement for a throwaway project like this. thanks!

    @JohnSelstad @LeapMotion I might try this for the hell of it, and learn a bit more about how to work with this kind of data (esp in 3d), but in general I came to the conclusion that I should get some modelling clay or playdoh and just start testing shapes.

      @JohnSelstad @LeapMotion The data is really hard to read and I'm not sure whether adding more technology is the solution, esp when I'm not sure what I'm looking for *in* the data. There's also some things about the data set:

        @JohnSelstad @LeapMotion - I'm not sure how good the capture is, Leap tries very hard to be smart and that can backfire - The density of data varies just based on how I moved, which skews averaging approaches - I captured not only the max reach per finger but also the resting positions + space inbetween
