    @rsnous Phones are the worst at this. I think we need to fragment our super-multi-purpose devices into separate tools with separate physical locations and styles of interaction again.

      @rsnous It's incredible how easy it is to get distracted and end up doing something completely different (like falling into a dopamine mining facility) when doing anything at all that requires opening the browser.

        @rsnous I can't count how many times I've thought "ok now I have to do X in Y googe doc" and I simply didn't make it to that google doc.

          @rsnous I'm probably oversimplifying here, but this is something that couldn't happen (so much?) before computers - it you sit down at your drawing table, or with a typewriter, or with a book, it's quite hard to accidentally end up reading the newspaper.

            @rsnous Maybe we don't really need multitasking OS for end-user devices, maybe we just need single board computers with unique interfaces for different things. There is probably a hundred "distraction-free" writing tools (native + on the web), but where's the raspi that boots into that?
