      @fasterthanlime switched to US-ANSI about two years ago - at first i swapped the caps to have a QWERTZ ANSI but later also undid that. ANSI is just sooo much better for programming because it doesn't hide []{}\ behind alt, ' isn't a dead key, and it has all brackets in nice pairs.

    @fasterthanlime as @Ludonaut said though, it's tough to get hardware with ansi here, esp when you can't compromise on the exact model (like shopping for a laptop). On my laptop I use ANSI layout in software even though the physical keyboard is ISO - you get used to it...

      @fasterthanlime @Ludonaut biggest drawback is I have no äöü. On linux I have compose key but not on windows or mac, so I have a habit of just typing ae/oe/ue now.
