I don't know if Cycling offers an embeddable version of the Max interpeter, but PureData can be embedded and was used in Spore: uni-weimar.de/kunst-und-gestaltung/wiki/PDCON:Conference/Using_Pure_Data_in_Spore_and_Darkspore
